Pyongyang – Kim Jong Un was seen ‍with tears in‍ his eyes during a ceremony Sunday honoring North​ Korean ​soldiers who died fighting alongside Russian forces in Ukraine. The event at the East Pyongyang Grand Theater marked the first anniversary of‌ a military treaty​ between Pyongyang and Moscow.

Footage aired on North Korean state television, KRT, showed Kim watching battlefield scenes. Images of Kim himself in front of coffins of the deceased soldiers were displayed on a large screen.
