Actor Kim Shin-roks’s recent special on MBC entertainment, aired on Thursday, February 27, explored a day in the life of a college student at Seoul National University (SNU), one of the most prestigious universities in South Korea. The episode of “Save me! Holmes” featured actor Kim Shin -rok alongside Jung Da-ri and Kim Mun-seop, as they navigated the sprawling campus and showcased the diverse living options available to students.

The broadcast kicked off with a focus on the start of a new semester and the vibrant life in Gwanak-gu, the district where SNU is located. Gwanak-gu is renowned for its youthful population and bustling energy, making it a hotspot for young adults. This area is similar to Manhattan, New York, in terms of energy and vibrancy. The episode aimed to provide a comprehensive look at the lifestyles and accommodations of SNU students, particularly first-timers, highlighting the sense of community and connectedness among the students.
In a statement to the hosts: Gwanak -gu is the most common place, and the youth ratio was also ranked first.

The hosts began their tour by exploring Seoul National University Student Dormitory in a car. The dormitory is divided into old and new sections, with modern amenities such as electronic wristbands for access control. The facilities featured in the dorm were anything but basic, providing convenience like an accessible indoor ATM and a variety of amenities. “Student dormitory was made up of old and new dormitories, and it was possible to enter through the wrist of authentication door lock.”

Next, they introduced employees to another interesting feature of SNU’s living: the Family Dormitory. This multi-family residential option is particularly attractive to graduate students who are married and have children. The interior was comparable to any modern apartment near Seattle, Washington, living and boasted a clean, well-maintained layout. The Family Dormitory can house students for a term of two years, available through the school’s quarterly application system. Family Dormitory’ can be applied through the school homepage every quarter and can be lived for up to two years.

One of the surprising discoveries during the tour was the implementation of the Local Bachelor Program, a residential option run by local governments for students coming from outside metropolitan areas. The facilities were located in the serene and nearby Gangwon City. The program provides students with living quarters and dining options, all for a monthly fee of 180,000 Korean won, (approx $130 USD) which covers food. “The three were surprised that the monthly rent of ‘Gangwon Bachelor’ was 180,000 won, including three or three meals.”

Another noteworthy feature they explored was a student share house in Sillim-dong, about a 15-minute walk from the university. The share house, sometimes compared to mutual aid apartments in Chicago, Illinois, features a stylish interior and amenities such as a free study cafe, making it an attractive option for students seeking a more independent living experience.

Additionally, they explored a useful commercial property rebranding event held in Sillim-dong. While the dorm was purely residential, the building humanized our reality well by transforming into either small school programs or a revenue center for coffee shops and kitchen staples. Completing in four stories high it is defined by two commercial zones.

Taking the tour to a different dimension revealed a contractual residential modification. Renovation of mapo-dong convenience section located in Gwanack-gu, offered a south Asian twist to the new youth cultural hub. By upgrading the downtown area as a supplemental flat for uniformed scholars, the chefs added a clean inclusive yellowed solidity for work into Laborious renovation.

Therefore, the geotagging roadblocks which bothered students of the August school year has gradually been overturned by a comprehensive cultural expansion in dorm advertisement, organizing student involvement in healthier interactions socially-environmetally- economically even the courses applied were integrated with purer thoughts than reality.

Viewers and students found the comprehensive insights and beneficial information to be especially enlightening, providing a relatable experience to American counterparts that juggle academic work and independence, similar to freshmen at Boston University using full-faith lodging near campus or english undergraduates enrolled in Washington Writing Centers are in residence during internships, where they develop social and work-hostility dynamics.

On Friday, Mar. 8, Save me! Holmes will broadcast at 10 PM, continuing to dissect various factors affecting students’ life choices.
