King Charles III’s Environmental Philosophy Takes Center Stage in New Amazon Documentary

A new documentary, “Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision,” offering an intimate look into King Charles III’s decades-long commitment to environmental sustainability, premiered on Amazon Prime Video on February 6, 2026. The film, narrated by Kate Winslet, explores the King’s philosophy of “Harmony”—the belief that humanity must see itself as part of nature, not separate from it.

The documentary, unveiled at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, features unique interviews and archive footage detailing the King’s pioneering work in environmentalism, often facing opposition to his views. According to reports, the premiere was attended by celebrities including Kate Winslet, Dame Judi Dench, Sir Rod Stewart, and Sir Kenneth Branagh.

“Finding Harmony” delves into the core of King Charles’s message: that restoring the balance between humanity and nature is crucial to solving global warming and other pressing global issues. The film argues that the King’s long-held beliefs, first articulated in his 2010 book “Harmony: A New Way of Looking at Our World,” are not the result of aimless flitting between causes, but rather interconnected issues requiring comprehensive solutions.

The documentary highlights the King’s advocacy for sustainable agriculture, traditional crafts, urban planning, and fostering understanding between religions, all presented as integral components of creating sustainable communities. It also addresses criticisms leveled against him over the years, portraying him as a visionary ahead of his time.

King Charles himself reflects on his legacy, stating, “It all boils down to the fact that we are actually nature ourselves, we are a part of it, not apart from it, which is really how things are being presented for so long.” He expressed hope that, “by the time I shuffle off this mortal coil, there might be a little more awareness … of the need to bring things back together again.”

The film showcases the King’s early environmental concerns, dating back to the 1960s, and his championing of organic farming, even when dismissed as “crazy” by some. It also examines his work with The King’s Foundation, including the restoration of Dumfries House and initiatives to train communities in traditional skills.

“Finding Harmony” also touches upon the King’s broader philosophical outlook, exploring connections between environmentalism, art, architecture, and even mathematics, suggesting a universe filled with repeating patterns that influence human emotions and wellbeing. The documentary draws parallels to Adam Curtis’s documentary “Bitter Lake,” in its attempt to link disparate ideas with stock footage.

The release of “Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision” comes at a time when Amazon’s programming strategy appears to be shifting, with the platform also recently releasing a documentary about Melania Trump. The decision to provide a platform for uncritical profiles of prominent figures has raised questions, but the documentary offers a unique insight into King Charles III’s lifelong dedication to environmental sustainability and his vision for a more harmonious future.
