Latvia State Forest National Park Entrance Fees Increase in 2026
As of January 1, 2026, entrance fees to Latvia’s State Forest National Park will increase for families and individuals, according to a December 15, 2025 declaration from the Latvia State Forests (LVM). The price adjustments effect different family sizes and individual visitors.
New Fee Structure
The updated fee structure is as follows:
- Individual (age 12+): €18.00 (previously €15.00)
- Individual (under 12): €0.00 (remains free)
- Family 2: €22.00 (covers one adult and one child under 12)
- Family 3: €28.00 (covers one adult and two children under 12)
- Family 4: €34.00 (covers two adults and two children under 12)
These fees apply to access the nature trails, observation towers, and educational facilities within the National Park. Camping and specific guided tours may incur additional charges, as detailed on the LVM website.
Rationale for Increase
LVM cited rising maintenance costs and the need for continued investment in park infrastructure as the primary reasons for the fee increases. In a press release, LVM representative, Jānis Goldbergs, stated that the increased revenue will be allocated to trail upkeep, improved signage, and enhanced visitor safety measures. LVM’s 2025 annual report indicated a 12% increase in park visitation over the past three years,straining existing resources.
