Barton was a prominent player for the Ohio State Buckeyes, earning All-Big Ten honors twice and All-American first-team recognition in 2007. A Massillon, Ohio, native, he started for four seasons before being drafted by the chicago Bears in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft.
The Bears selected Barton with the 247th overall pick. He spent time with seven NFL teams, including active rosters and practice squads, before retiring in 2010. He played in one NFL game for Chicago in 2008.
