KJ Adams, a veteran forward for the Kansas Jayhawks, will join the team’s coaching staff for the upcoming 2025-26 season. Head coach Bill Self announced the move, citing Adams’ ongoing recovery from a torn Achilles tendon sustained during the NCAA Tournament in March. While Adams’ playing career is temporarily on hold, his knowledge and presence will remain an asset to the program.

“We’re going to hire him in some capacity,” Self said. “KJ’s going to be part of our staff next year…to allow him to stick around and be at practice every day and also work on rehab.”
