Taiwan’s top badminton player Tai Tzu-ying made a successful debut in the Taipei Badminton Open women’s singles first round, defeating 19-year-old Indian player Tanya Hemant in straight games.

Tai Tzu-ying, who will retire at the end of this year, showed no signs of injury despite wearing knee pads. She won the first game 21-11 and the second game 21-10, advancing to the top 16.
