Knicks Legend Dick Barnett’s NBA Championship Ring Hitting Auction Block
A championship ring belonging to the late Dick Barnett,a New York Knicks legend and Basketball Hall of Famer,is heading to auction. Heritage Auctions will be offering the NBA championship ring,wiht bidding set to open in August.
The auction house anticipates the Dick Barnett memorabilia could fetch more than $60,000. According to Heritage auctions, they acquired the ring after a private sale, with the new owner consigning it to their auction block.

A Heritage Auctions spokesperson said the recent Knicks playoff run influenced the decision to auction the ring. ”Given this year’s Knicks playoff run they decided it was time to put it up for auction and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to present it to the collecting public,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson added, ”It belonged to a knicks legend and basketball HOFer, and the fact it comes from an era when the recipients of championship rings were very limited, we expect to see a lot of interest in the ring.”
barnett, whose No. 12 jersey was retired by the Knicks, won two NBA titles during his career. He was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2024. barnett died in April at the age of 88.
