DETROIT – Chris Kirk, Philip‍ Knowles and Andrew Putnam ended the second round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic sharing the lead at 14-under par. Knowles, after five straight missed cuts, propelled himself into ⁢contention with a 64, thanks to three eagles on the par-5s at Detroit Golf club. Kirk matched him with⁤ a second-round 65, starting strong with⁣ three birdies.

Putnam carded a 66 in less favorable conditions to join the leading trio. Jackson Suber sits ⁤one stroke behind after a 65⁢ that included five consecutive birdies.

Jake Knapp shot a bogey-free 61,featuring⁢ an ⁣eagle and ‍nine⁢ birdies,placing him⁣ in a large‍ group at⁤ 11-under.This group includes Harry hall, David Skinns, Kevin Roy, ⁢Hideki Matsuyama, and ‍Collin⁢ Morikawa.Morikawa credited ⁢a putter change for his 64.
