Koby Brea, a standout three-point shooter, is set to enter the 2025 NBA Draft. He brings five years of college experience, including four seasons with Dayton and a final year at Kentucky.
Brea’s path to the NBA wasn’t without obstacles. During his freshman year, he suffered fractures in both wrists after a practice fall, sidelining him for half the season. As a sophomore, he faced the challenge of adapting to a bench role.

initially, Brea struggled with the change. “The frist couple games after I got benched I’m like, damn, I kinda messed this up. I was supposed to have a breakout year. I started to feel bad for myself,” Brea said in Road to the Draft presented by Jeep.
However, he reframed his perspective. “I think its what’s helped me be able to understand how I can star in different roles and it’s part of the player I am today.I can star or I can come off the bench and have the same impact, and once I realized that I was able to be really good coming off the bench. I got Sixth Man of the Year for the first time and I was like, OK, I kinda like this,” Brea said.
What’s next
Brea now looks to translate his college success, particularly his three-point shooting, to the professional level as he prepares for the NBA Draft.
