When asked about her impressive performance in the endurance challenge, Charlotte attributed her success to mental fortitude.”I knew that for static events, I might not have the same physical advantage,” she explained. “But for the posts, it was all about concentration. When Ilyesse fell,I knew that was my chance. I tightened my grip, but with my large feet on that tiny platform, it was nearly impractical to hold on!”
Staying True to Her Values
Charlotte emphasized the importance of staying true to her values throughout the competition. “Before leaving for ‘Koh-Lanta,’ my family asked me to play a fair game,” she shared. “In Corsica, where I’m from, betraying trust is frowned upon. I didn’t want to be part of any underhanded strategies. I’m proud that I stayed true to myself and made it far with the Yellow tribe.”
Navigating Social media Scrutiny
Charlotte acknowledged the challenges of facing online criticism. “Yes, I was surprised by some of the negativity,” she admitted. “While most messages were positive, some were hurtful. Some of my fellow contestants received truly horrible messages.I’ve also experienced anti-Corsican insults. But I try to rise above it.”
Returning to Reality
The transition back to everyday life proved to be an adjustment. “It was tough,” Charlotte confessed.”I only lost two kilos on the island, which surprised me. I struggled with binge eating and gained ten kilos over the summer! Thankfully, I got back into rugby and regained my balance.”
Lessons Learned and Future Plans
Charlotte believes her rugby background prepared her for the challenges of “Koh-Lanta.” “Rugby teaches you fair play, tolerance, and perseverance – values that are essential in ‘Koh-Lanta,'” she explained.
The experience also brought about personal growth. “I was more impulsive before,” she reflected. “But ‘Koh-Lanta’ helped me become more patient and serene. I learned that kindness and community can thrive even in difficult circumstances.”
Looking ahead, Charlotte plans to use her winnings to pursue her passion for agrotourism. “I love welcoming people and sharing my region’s beauty and traditions,” she shared. “The prize money will be a huge help in making this dream a reality.”
