Koo Launches Hype: Innovative Cycling Sunglasses with Unique Ventilation for Road Cyclists
Koo Launches New Hype Cycling Glasses
Koo, the Italian eyewear brand, launched its latest cycling glasses model, Hype, at Rouleur Live in London. These glasses are specifically designed for road cyclists. Koo highlights that Hype features four venting ports—two on each side and one above the nose bridge. This unique design improves airflow, preventing fogging during high-intensity rides.
The Hype glasses use Zeiss polycarbonate lenses, known for their high-quality optics. The frame incorporates 45% bio-based polymer materials, making them both stylish and eco-friendly.
Koo teased these glasses during the Monument race, Il Lombardia, where the Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe team wore them. This launch follows a partnership with Red Bull, announced at the start of the 2024 season. The collaboration has produced additional models: Alibi, Spectro, and Demos, all in team colors.
The Hype glasses come in nine color options, including a special edition for the Red Bull team. A tortoiseshell version, reminiscent of cycling legend Fausto Coppi’s favorites, blends fashion with function. Koo’s marketing director, Simona Tironi, states that Hype represents a new era of cycling accessories for the brand.
The new glasses are available for viewing at Rouleur Live from November 14 to November 16. Koo is the sister brand of Kask, which will showcase helmets worn during multiple Grand Tour victories.
A limited release of Hype is available for purchase at kooworld.cc/us/en/. The glasses will be more widely available in January 2025. They retail for $215 and can be bought through Koo’s website.
