Korea Advances to U-18 Asian Handball Championship Finals
The Korean U-18 men’s handball team has secured a spot in the finals of the 10th Asian Youth Handball Championship, where they will face off against Japan.
South Korea defeated Kuwait 36-24 in the semifinals of the tournament, held in Amman, Jordan, to advance to the championship match.
The final match against Japan, who defeated Saudi Arabia 30-27, is scheduled to take place on the 14th local time.
As the defending champions, Korea is seeking to win their fourth title and second consecutive championship.
This marks the first time Korea will face Japan in the finals of the tournament.
Korea took an early three-point lead against Kuwait, thanks to consecutive goals from Cho Yoo-hwan and Kang Jun-won.
Although Korea conceded consecutive goals in the early part of the second half and fell behind by 2 points, they regained their lead with consecutive goals from Jo Yoo-hwan and Lee Jun-young. With 10 minutes left in the game, Korea extended their lead to 8 points, securing their victory.
