Koševo Thriller: Muftić Steals the Show in Electrifying Derby
Sarajevo and Željezničar played another city derby without a winner. Tonight was the 153rd game in a row, and it ended 1:1. However, tonight the spectators at the Asim Ferhatović Hase Olympic Stadium had something to see. It was a very good game where both teams had several great chances for a few more goals.
But in the end, the network only shook twice.
The first time was in the 44th minute when Željezničar took the lead with a goal against Boljević after an excellent assist from Hiroš. Željo had a few more chances in the first half, was more dangerous, and not one of their goals was disallowed for offside. Justified.

Unlike the first, in the second half a completely different picture. Sarajevo managed to take complete control of the game and create chance after chance.
In the 62nd minute, after a mistake in the middle of the field by a fresh Karić, two corners followed in a row. From the second, Sarajevo scored to equalize. Soldo, who came on at half-time, scored from inside the opponent’s box.

By the end of the match, Sarajevo seriously threatened several times, and Turkeš, who replaced Guliashvili in the 84th minute, was the closest to the goal. However, the brilliant Muftić in the Blues goal saved his goal with a miraculous intervention.
Sarajevo had a few more chances, but Muftić was the Blues’ best player on the pitch.
Ćorić: Three or four players asked me to change

“Congratulations to the boys for tonight’s game and thanks to the crowd who cheered us on in great numbers. The first half was one of the best since I’ve been here. In the second half, our problems with injuries and absences cost us, and we were in an inferior position. Overall, the most realistic result is a draw,” Želja coach Denis Ćorić said after the match.

“Three or four players asked me to change, we were suffering and this is a big point for us. The first half must be our guide as Željo must be and we will be on the right track. We played 4-3-3 today, where it worked quite well in the first half”, said Ćorić, and this was the first Sarajevo derby in his coaching career.
Zekić: We went into the game confused, it was chaotic

“My players and I did not understand each other in certain situations, there was panic, mistakes. We dominated in the second half, but we couldn’t score that second goal. Sometimes you don’t need to look for cakes over bread, with Lulić I wanted to get more of a midfielder. We went into the game confused, it was chaotic. We expected a victory, but Željo is also wondering about something,” said Zekić.
Sarajevo now has 17 points, and Žejezničar 14. In the next round, Sarajevo will host Pecara near Široki Brije, while Željezničar will host Posušje on their home field.
More soon…
