Fire at Kovan Regency Condominium Rescues Six, Hospitalizes Three
Singapore – A fire broke out in the early hours of Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Kovan Regency condominium, located at 6 Kovan Rise. Six residents were rescued from the blaze, with three requiring hospital treatment for smoke inhalation, and burns.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responded to the incident after being alerted at approximately 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a fire raging within a 14th-floor unit of the condominium. According to the SCDF, shouts for help and the sound of pounding on doors were immediately audible from inside the smoke-filled apartment.
Firefighters swiftly entered the two-story unit and initiated a search and rescue operation. Four individuals were rescued from the first level, and two from the second. The fire, which originated in the kitchen and spread to the living room, was extinguished using a single water jet. The remainder of the unit sustained varying degrees of heat and smoke damage.
Of the six people rescued, three were assessed at the scene for smoke inhalation. One individual also presented with burn injuries. All three were subsequently transported to Singapore General Hospital for further medical attention. The remaining three rescued residents were evaluated and did not require hospitalization.
Approximately 100 residents had already evacuated the affected block of the condominium before the arrival of SCDF personnel. The swift evacuation likely contributed to preventing further injuries.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the SCDF. Authorities have not yet released any preliminary findings regarding the origin or contributing factors of the blaze.
The Kovan Regency is a luxury condominium complex in the Kovan area of Singapore. The incident prompted a significant emergency response, highlighting the SCDF’s preparedness for residential fires. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
