Punjab FC Forward Luka Majsen Sidelined for Two Months Due to Injury

Punjab FC forward Luka Majsen will be out of action for up to two months after sustaining an injury during the season opener against Kerala Blasters FC in the Indian Premier League. The Slovenian striker was injured in a foul by Blasters player KP Rahul during the match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi.

The incident occurred in the final minutes of the match when KP Rahul collided with Luka Majsen as he attempted to gain possession of the ball. Majsen was struck on the head and fell to the ground, suffering a serious jaw injury that will require surgery in the coming days.

KP Rahul’s actions were heavily criticized on social media for the unnecessary and dangerous foul, which has resulted in a significant loss for Punjab FC. The club’s Director of Football, Nicholas Toppoliatis, expressed his disappointment at the absence of the crucial player.

Despite Luka Majsen’s injury, Punjab FC managed to secure a 2-1 victory over Kerala Blasters. Majsen played a vital role in the match, converting a penalty in the 86th minute to give Punjab the lead. The winning goal was scored by Philip in the 95th minute, with Majsen contributing to the play that led to the goal.
