Continuing the official visit to Carinthia, the delegation of the Canton of Sarajevo met yesterday in Klagenfurt with representatives of several organizations that gather members of our diaspora in this Austrian province. The intention of the Sarajevo Canton was translated into an agreement on cooperation with Bosnian economic, cultural and sports associations signed by the director Emir Ibrahimagić from the Expatriate Office of the KS Government and president of the Association of Associations of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Austria”Council of BosniaDamir Saracevic.
Ibrahimagić emphasized that the aim of the Office for this year is networking with our associations, individuals, businessmen in the complete diaspora, and expressed his satisfaction with the first signed document that formalizes the cooperation with the Association, which gathers several dozen associations.
“Austria is very important to the Canton of Sarajevo and all of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and we hope by signing this memorandum. The office will be a central place for our diaspora in terms of all the activities held in Sarajevo Canton“, said Saračević.
He notes that bh. a community in Austria, according to unofficial data, consisting of around 200,000 people who do not want to lose their cultural identity, language and tradition, and praised the establishment of the Expatriate Office, and through that they will have the opportunity to strengthen ties with their homeland.
The Prime Minister of the UK, who attended the signing of the agreement with the ministers, expressed his satisfaction with the first agreement of this type signed by the Immigration Office. “We are on the right track to implement the idea of connection, created by establishing the Office, in practice, here in Austria. We had a series of meetings with successful individuals and organisations, where we saw for ourselves how our community has integrated into Austrian society. We want to use their potential so that, on the one hand, they help our economy through their investments, and on the other hand, they help the diaspora through cultural programs and language learning,” said the Prime Minister the UK. Among other things, yesterday the Sarajevo Canton delegation visited the Gazi Husrev-beg Islamic Cultural Center in Klagenfurt, which includes the Cvijet Srebrenica mosque, as reported by the KS Protocol and Press Service.
