The KTM SX-E 2.12 electric motocross bike arrives at a weight of 29 kg and delivers up to 50 Nm of torque, filling a precise sizing gap between the SX-E 2 and SX-E 3 models for young riders. The 2027 model sits directly between the existing offerings to serve children who have outgrown the lower model but are not yet ready for larger options.

Dimensionally, the new bike features a 12-inch front wheel compared to the 10-inch wheel of the smaller machine. It incorporates an aluminum chassis with an extruded central tube, a WP hydraulic front fork with 90 mm of travel, and a rear hydraulic monoshock providing 70 mm of travel. The seat height is measured at 566 mm, representing an increase of 66 mm over the SX-E 2, alongside a greater ground clearance and a longer wheelbase.

HUB Motor and Lithium-Ion Battery Power the Vehicle

Propulsion is handled by a 1.8 kW HUB electric motor integrated directly into the rear wheel. The design eliminates conventional transmission components such as a chain and sprocket. Energy is stored in a 9.4 Ah lithium-ion battery featuring IP65 protection. Using an external charger of up to 500 W, which is compatible with 110 V and 230 V power outlets, the battery can reach full charge in approximately one hour according to the manufacturer.

Rollover Sensor and Wrist Lanyard Improve Rider Safety

To protect young operators, the KTM SX-E 2.12 includes a rollover sensor that automatically cuts power during a fall, as well as a wrist lanyard connected to a safety switch that stops the motor if the rider separates from the vehicle. An illuminated handlebar-mounted multi-function display indicates the selected riding mode through color codes.
