Authorities have recovered the bodies of two laborers who were working on a hydel project near Khanyara. A private power project in Siund and the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation’s (NHPC) project sustained notable damage. The one-megawatt project is now submerged, according to Anmol.
Inspector Deepak Bisht of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) reported that a team is assisting in the area. “Our team arrived at the spot… We are assisting the area,and as we receive the facts,we will know more about it (the missing people). One of our teams is deployed in the region,” Bisht said.
Banjar MLA Surinder Shauri has called on residents to avoid rivers and drains, citing the continuous heavy rainfall. “Heavy rains have been going on since morning… I would appeal to the people to stay away from the river and drains and have asked the administration to take quick action as people are in problem,” Shauri said.
