Kuwait’s Domestic Workers in Limbo: Calls Grow to Extend Visa Transfer Deadline

Extension ‍of Visa Transfer for ⁢Domestic Workers in Kuwait‍ Urged

The⁤ Public Authority for Workforce has announced⁢ the expiration of Ministerial⁤ Decision No. 6/2024, which allowed the ⁤transfer of domestic workers to the private sector.

Initially, Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al Youssef Al Sabah‌ introduced a decision permitting domestic workers to be transferred to the private sector within a specific timeframe, from July 14 to September 12.

There is a growing demand to extend the implementation of this decision for an additional two ⁣months or​ to make it ‌a ‌permanent policy, similar to ‌neighboring ⁣countries.
