Russian Attack on Kyiv Kills One, Damages Metro Entrance

A Russian drone and missile attack on kyiv overnight killed one person and injured at least five others, officials saeid Monday. The assault sparked fires in residential areas and damaged an entrance to a metro station used as a bomb shelter.
Mykola Kalashnik, governor of the Kyiv region, said a 68-year-old woman died in the attack. The State Emergency Service reported rescuing a pregnant woman from a burning building.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the attack affected three of the city’s 10 districts, damaging apartment buildings. An exit to a metro station in the Sviatoshynskyi district and a nearby bus stop also sustained damage.
Timur Tkachenko, head of kyiv’s military management, said Russia is hitting places where people may be, such as residential buildings and shelter exits. Russia has not commented on the attack.
Last week, Ukrainian officials reported that a Russian drone attack on Kyiv killed 28 and injured more than 150.
