Jacob Misiorowski delivered a dominant seven-inning shutout performance, but the Milwaukee Brewers fell 3-1 to the San Diego Padres on May 13, 2026. Despite Misiorowski’s effort, the Brewers’ offense provided limited support, and the team was unable to secure the victory.

Misiorowski began the game with high velocity, reaching 103 MPH in the first inning. However, he struggled with efficiency early on, requiring 21 pitches to navigate the first inning and 22 pitches to complete the second. During the opening frame, a replay review failed to overturn an infield single by Fernando Tatis Jr.

Misiorowski acknowledged that he did not feel he was performing at his peak during the start of the game, stating, I honestly didn’t feel like I had my best stuff. I thought I was spraying those first few innings.

After surrendering a single to Tatis Jr. In the third inning, Misiorowski settled into a rhythm and retired the following 14 batters he faced. His efficiency improved significantly in the middle and late innings, throwing eight pitches in the fourth, eight in the fifth, seven in the sixth, and 11 in the seventh.

The pitcher capped his performance in the seventh inning by striking out Nick Castellanos with a final pitch that reached 103 MPH.

Misiorowski was prepared to return for the eighth inning while holding a 1-0 lead. However, during his warmups, he experienced a recurrence of a leg issue and called for the athletic trainer before exiting the game.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy confirmed the exit was due to a quad cramp. Regarding the decision to keep him in as long as possible, Murphy said:

Yeah, he wanted to stay in. We would have normally taken him out, but he wanted to stay in for the 8th. Pat Murphy

The Brewers, who hold a record of 22-16, ultimately conceded three runs following Misiorowski’s departure, resulting in the 3-1 loss.

The series concludes with a rubber match scheduled for the afternoon of May 14, 2026, with Kyle Harrison slated to start for Milwaukee.
