⁣⁢ NASCAR‍ Cup Series champion ⁤ Kyle Larson, a ⁣prominent figure in motorsports,⁢ is set to participate‍ in⁣ the Pennzoil 400 at ⁢Las ⁣Vegas Motor Speedway.
⁢

The 2021 series champion will also be a key attraction at another racing event in ‌Las⁤ Vegas, distinct⁤ from the 1½-mile oval.

High Limit Racing‍ Series Debuts at ‍LVMS Dirt Track

⁣ ⁣ ‍ ⁢Larson ⁢is bringing his ⁤co-owned High Limit ⁤Racing ⁤sprint car series to the ½-mile dirt track located on the LVMS property. The racing events ‍are scheduled for Thursday and Saturday, with races commencing‌ at 6:30 p.m. on both nights, marking the ⁤start ‌of the 2025 season.

‍ This marks ⁣the return of a national dirt racing ⁢series to the LVMS ⁢dirt‌ track since 2019.

I’m ⁤also extremely excited⁣ to bring the series⁤ that I co-own with my brother-in-law (Brad⁣ Sweet) to the dirt track ‍with ⁣sprint ⁣cars. It’s been a little while as we’ve gotten to ‌race sprint⁣ cars ⁤there. I’m excited to bring sprint car‍ racing back to the dirt track. All the teams⁢ and competitors ‍are excited to‍ get to race and‍ spend time in ⁢Las Vegas. I’m looking forward to the whole⁢ weekend.

‌ ⁢ ⁤ ⁢ Larson enters the weekend as ⁤the defending champion of the Pennzoil⁤ 400, having led for 181 laps during his victory ‌last March. The Pennzoil 400 is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

⁣ ⁤ ⁤ ‍ ‌ The Elk Grove, California, native isn’t the only notable Cup Series driver participating in the dirt track races. Christopher Bell, a three-time consecutive Cup ‍Series event winner, is also slated to compete in both races.
⁢ ‌ ‍

It’s been fun to see the sport of‍ sprint car racing grow, see our brand within High Limit grow really quickly and then see the health of (dirt track ⁣racing) really take⁣ off. ‍A lot of teams are⁣ making ⁤way more money than they ever ⁤have.

⁤ ‍Unlike ⁣many of his NASCAR cup Series counterparts, Larson honed his skills on dirt tracks. Even after transitioning to full-time stock ‌car ‍racing in⁢ 2012, he⁤ continued to race⁤ on dirt tracks nationwide.
‌ ‌ ⁣ ⁤

⁢ ⁤ larson and Sweet launched High Limit Racing ⁤ in 2022 with the goal of ‍enhancing winged sprint car racing⁢ and providing greater financial opportunities for teams.

‍ ⁣⁤ The series expanded nationally last year, featuring a ⁤60-race schedule ⁢with events across the country. This year, the season purse exceeds $5.8 million.
⁢ ⁢

‌ Larson ⁢acknowledged that there was “a lot of skepticism” regarding how High Limit Racing would coexist with ‌the World of Outlaws, the established sprint car racing series. However, Larson expresses confidence in ‌the sport’s capacity for growth with two national series.
‍ ⁤ ⁣ ‍ ⁢

Last year we proved that it can happen, so we look forward ‌to growing, too. From where we were⁢ at in one complete ⁣year⁢ to where we look to go to the next three‌ to four to five years is pretty unreal.

⁢ ⁤ ‌‍ ⁤ Larson and‍ his No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports ⁤team are coming off a third-place finish at Phoenix. Larson currently holds 11th position in the overall point standings, with two top-five finishes in⁣ four ‌races.
‌

⁢ ⁢ ‍ There are‌ numerous reasons to consider Larson a favorite at LVMS on Sunday. He boasts ⁢three Cup Series wins, 12 top-10 finishes, ⁣and an average ⁣finish of‌ 9.4 in 17 ⁢starts at the track.

It’s just a fun ⁢track and one that we,for whatever reason, had had a lot of ⁣success at. Since 2021 and joining Hendrick Motorsports,⁤ it’s probably been our best ‌racetrack. ‌We⁣ got a few‌ wins and two other second-place finishes in that⁢ time, it’s been really⁢ good.
