Kyle Larson, a NASCAR Cup Series champion, emerged unscathed from a frightening sprint car crash Friday night at the Plymouth Dirt Track in Wisconsin. The incident occurred during a World of Outlaws race where Larson’s vehicle flipped end-over-end before hitting the safety fence.
Larson, 32, attributed the crash to a broken right rear axle. Despite the violence of the wreck, he was able to climb out of the car without assistance.
“It just kind of launched me, and I was along for the ride,” Larson told Motorsport.com. He added that he felt good pacing Rico Abreu and catching traffic before the wreck. “Glad I’m OK, big hit but all-in-all, feel fine.”
