The legal battle between radio personalities Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has intensified as both have launched separate legal proceedings against their former employer, Commonwealth Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), following the termination of their $100 million contracts for The Kyle and Jackie O Show on KIIS FM.

Sandilands appeared in Sydney’s Federal Court on Friday, April 24, 2026, for ongoing proceedings against ARN Media, the license holder for KIIS FM. His legal team argues that the termination of his contract was invalid and that his behavior did not constitute serious misconduct as claimed by the broadcaster.

During the hearing, Sandilands stated that “the truth will raise its head” in the case against his former employer, as a judge considered whether his proceedings should be heard alongside those filed by Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.

Henderson has also filed separate legal action against CBC, alleging wrongful termination. Her lawyers claim she had complained about Sandilands’ conduct six months before their public falling out in February 2026, which led to her refusing to work with her co-host of more than two decades.

CBC has responded with counterclaims against both Sandilands and Henderson, seeking damages for breach of contract, losses in profit and advertising revenue, and legal costs. The broadcaster maintains that the terminations were justified due to serious misconduct.

Court documents revealed that Sandilands repeatedly berated KIIS FM executives, the station’s censors, and critics of The Kyle and Jackie O Show in expletive-laden rants months before his termination. The defense alleges he referred to ARN executives as “pussies,” denigrated in-house censors for using the dump button, and called activist group Mad Fucking Witches (MFW) “dangerous lunatics.”

Sandilands’ legal team contends that the purported misconduct lasted only 20 minutes on a single day and was not persistent, arguing that the termination was therefore invalid under the terms of their 10-year contracts, which were set to run until December 31, 2035.

The dispute stems from an on-air row in February 2026 that escalated into a public falling out between the longtime co-hosts. Despite their separation in the workplace, both parties continue to pursue legal remedies through the Federal Court system in Sydney.
