Kylie Jenner to play murdered bride in Hulu series Bachelorette Weekend

Kylie Jenner is stepping into a major acting role for the first time, taking on the part of a murdered bride in an upcoming thriller series titled Bachelorette Weekend, as reported by Deadline and Gala.de. The project, which is currently finalizing a deal for a straight-to-series order at the US streaming service Hulu, teams Jenner up with her older half-sister, Kim Kardashian. Both are set to executive produce the drama, which follows a bachelorette trip that goes fatally wrong when Jenner’s character is discovered dead in a pool.

Kardashian Connection Brings Jenner to Hulu

The television adaptation originated when author and screenwriter Lauren Oliver developed an unpublished book by Flora Collins through her IP packaging company StoryGiants, as reported by Deadline. Aaron Kaplan and Jaiden Kaplan developed the spec script internally at Kapital Entertainment. According to Deadline, the script was sent to Kim Kardashian to produce, who recognized it as a strong starring vehicle for her half-sister and forwarded it to her.

Jenner and Kardashian quickly agreed to join the project as executive producers. Through Kardashian’s first-look deal at 20th Television, the series was pitched to sibling platform Hulu, which acquired it preemptively. Gala.de noted that Hulu has not yet publicly commented on the plans for the series.

The Plot of Bachelorette Weekend

In Bachelorette Weekend, the narrative centers on a celebratory weekend that takes a lethal turn. Gala.de reported that the bride, played by Jenner, is murdered and found in a pool, immediately placing her closest girlfriends under suspicion. Although the exact amount of screen time Jenner will command remains flexible, her character serves as the central anchor of the story.

Deadline described Jenner’s role as the North Star of the series. The plot gradually pieces together the timeline and events leading up to the bride’s death, exploring motives among the suspects even after the character’s murder in the opening phase. Her figure forms the central reference point of the plot even beyond her death, as Gale.de noted.

Expanding Acting Portfolios in Hollywood

The new streaming series mirrors the career path established by Kim Kardashian, who, at 45 years old alongside 29-year-old Kylie Jenner, has transitioned into scripted acting and producing roles in recent years, as Gala.de reported. Kardashian’s credits include appearances in American Horror Story and All’s Fair. Jenner previously made a brief foray into acting by playing a fictionalized version of herself in Charli xcx’s film The Moment, in addition to maintaining a high-profile presence in movie circles alongside partner Timothée Chalamet.

Both Jenner and Kardashian continue their long-running association with Hulu as executive producers and stars of The Kardashians, which streams its eighth season starting October 8. Bachelorette Weekend further expands Kapital Entertainment’s footprint on the Disney-owned streaming platform, adding to a slate that includes the drama series You Deserve to Know starring Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley, and What Remains starring Kerry Washington, as Deadline reported.
