Kyonggi University Launches Robotics Major and Announces 2027 Admissions Plan

Kyonggi University is launching a new robotics major within its electronics engineering division while renaming several undergraduate departments for the upcoming academic year, according to reports from JoongAng Ilbo.

The student record comprehensive track features 678 slots for the KGU comprehensive program, 15 for software specialists, 203 for balanced opportunity selections, and 34 for social consideration categories, amounting to 930 positions.

Additionally, the university allocates 239 positions to the essay track through the essay excellence program, while practical skill evaluations cover 158 spots for arts, 36 for physical education, and 32 for athletic special talent recruits, according to JoongAng Ilbo. Five college units will exclusively select freshmen via the grade achievement track during early admissions, including 18 students for the humanities division, 30 for social sciences, 19 for software business, 7 for convergent sciences, and 35 for creative engineering. The top grade achiever track sets a college scholastic ability test minimum threshold requiring the top two scores among Korean, mathematics, English, and inquiry to sum to seven grades or lower, with Korean history capped at 6 grades and English grades one and two treated equally as grade one, according to JoongAng Ilbo.
