The collection kicks off today, December 10th, with a powerful rendition of The Glass Menagerie, Williams’ autobiographical masterpiece that catapulted him to fame. This production reunites the acclaimed cast of the Roundabout Theatre’s celebrated revival: the legendary Julie Harris, Calista Flockhart (in her Broadway debut), Kevin Kilner, and Zeljko Ivanek, with John Goodman lending his voice as the narrator.
Set in 1935 St. Louis, The Glass Menagerie delves into the lives of the Wingfield family, trapped in a cramped apartment and grappling with shattered dreams and haunting memories.
“We’re incredibly excited to bring these timeless stories to a new generation of listeners,” says Producing Director Susan Loewenberg. “Williams’ work is as relevant today as it was when it was first written, exploring universal themes of love, loss, and the search for identity.”

“The Glass Menagerie” is a powerful and emotionally charged play. What challenges and rewards did your team face in bringing it to life in audio format?

We had the unbelievable advantage of working with a phenomenal cast who imbued the characters with depth and vulnerability. The absence of visuals forced us to rely entirely on sound design and vocal performance to create a vivid and immersive experiance for the listener.
