los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass announced a curfew for a one-square-mile area of downtown L.A., effective 8 p.m. Tuesday, after four days of protests related to ICE raids. The curfew aims to address vandalism and ​looting in the area.

Bass declared ​a local emergency, citing the⁢ need⁣ to halt property⁢ damage. “I have declared a local emergency and declared a curfew ‍to stop ⁢the ⁢vandalism, to stop the looting,” Bass said.
