The Los⁢ Angeles Galaxy’s‌ opponents to ‌date ‌have all‍ had better records.The galaxy, the defending MLS champions, are currently winless and at ​the bottom of the Western Conference⁢ standings.

On Saturday,the LA Galaxy will travel to ⁣St. Paul, Minnesota, to play Minnesota United FC, another team that qualified for the playoffs​ last⁢ season. Minnesota United ​FC ⁤upset Real Salt Lake, the third seed, in the first ⁤round of the 2024 postseason.

Minnesota appears to be a championship contender this season, while the ⁢LA Galaxy have only one point ‌so far in the 2025 ​regular‍ season, earned via a 1-1 draw against the Portland​ Timbers.

In their fifth MLS ⁢match of the year, the galaxy will​ wear their new kits when they play ​Minnesota on Saturday afternoon.

What’s different between these two teams five months later?

Several ‌changes have occurred for the LA Galaxy. Dejan Joveljic, Marky Delgado, Gaston Brugman, and Jalen neal are no​ longer with the​ team.

Will Kuntz, general ‌manager for⁤ the Los Angeles Galaxy, has added new players, including ⁣Axel Essengue, Mathias Jorgenson, Elijah Wynder, Lucas Sanabria, and Christian Ramirez.

Ramirez debuted in MLS with ​Minnesota in‌ 2014. He joined the LA ⁤Galaxy after Joveljic was⁣ traded to Sporting ‌Kansas City.

Eight goals were⁤ scored between the two ⁤teams​ in last year’s MLS western Conference semifinal match. Joseph ‌Paintsil ​and ‍Riqui Puig, who both played in that game, are currently ⁢out with ​injuries.

John ⁤McCarthy is ⁤expected⁣ to start in goal⁢ again after Novak Micovic ⁢had three‍ challenging starts to the season. The LA Galaxy had a record of 0-0-3 in those games.

What to⁤ know about kickoff?

saturday’s game between the⁢ LA Galaxy⁤ and Minnesota United FC is available on MLS Season Pass.

Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time ⁣and 3:30 p.m. Central Time at Allianz⁤ field in St.⁣ Paul,‍ Minnesota.

Minnesota enters this weekend as the ‍fifth-best team in the MLS Western Conference with a record of 2-1-1. They have scored five goals in four‌ games and allowed ​an average of one goal per game.

Tani‌ Oluwaseyi and Kelvin Yeboah are the team’s leading scorers with two goals each. Oluwaseyi also⁢ has two assists‍ this season.

The LA Galaxy have allowed eight ⁢goals ⁢this season. Micovic allowed seven of those, while McCarthy allowed one.

The⁣ six-time MLS Cup winners have struggled to score, ⁣unlike last season. Gabriel Pec and Ramirez are ⁤the only players to have scored for the Galaxy so ⁣far. Miguel Berry and Zanka ​each have ⁤one assist this year.

A victory‍ against Minnesota woudl give the⁣ LA galaxy ‍three points and their‍ first win of the 2025 regular season. ⁢A loss would keep the Galaxy at the⁣ bottom of the Western Conference and help Minnesota move up in the standings.
