After the shooting in La Granja, the fatal victim died at SAPU San Gregorio, while the other two men went to Padre Hurtado Hospital. Detectives from the Homicide Squad of the Police Investigation (PDI) work to explain the shooting that left one dead and two injured in the town of San Gregorio in the community of La Granja.
The incident happened on Thursday night and was discovered after the two injured people appeared at the Hospital Padre Hurtado, San Ramón, while a third man came to the SAPU San Gregorio, who died on the spot due to the severity of his injuries. Next, Captain Riquelme said “according to the testimony of witnesses”, it was possible to verify that an object would have fired between 20 and 25 shots from a truck. “A few minutes pass and the truck was found in the San Ramón sector, with obvious ballistic effects and which remains burnt inside,” he added, and noted that the vehicle had been in custody for theft since last September.
The above would show that the victims managed to respond to the attack with their weapons and hit the truck in which the assailant(s) were traveling. Regarding the victims of the shooting, a Carabineros officer explained “There is a deceased person in the SAPU San Gregorio, another whose life is in danger in the ward and another who has serious injuries but it is not life threatening. They are all in Chile”, he asserted.
Captain Riquelme confirmed that “All the victims are from the San Gregorio sector of the population.” and, according to what neighbors tell us, the person who left the vehicle sprayed it with accelerant fluid, turned it on and fled.”
“The driver of this vehicle could have ultimately fired the shots against the injured we keep in Padre Hurtado and the deceased in SAPU San Gregorio,” the police officer concluded. According to what was determined by the South Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office, detectives from the PDI Homicide Squad, together with prosecutors from the ECOH team, will be responsible for investigating the case.
