European Nations League: Serbia and Spain Draw, Denmark Tops the Table
The Serbian national team and their guests, the Spanish national team, played out a goalless draw in the first round of the fourth group in the first division of the European Nations League.
The Danish national team, however, secured a 2-0 victory over Switzerland, topping the table with 3 points. Spain and Serbia are tied in second place with 1 point each, while Switzerland sits at the bottom of the standings with no points.

The Spanish national team, who won the European Nations Cup (Euro 2024) last July, failed to score in both halves of the match against Serbia. The Serbian team also wasted several chances, with each team earning a point.
In the other match, the Danish national team took advantage of the numerical deficit of the Swiss national team, who played with 10 players after Nico Ilvedi was sent off in the 52nd minute. Patrick Dorjo scored the first goal for the hosts in the 82nd minute, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg added a second goal in the 87th minute.
Game Analysis
The game began with the Spanish national team possessing the ball, but the Serbian team launched a surprise attack in the seventh minute, which resulted in a shot by Veljko Parmansevic that went over the crossbar.
The Spanish team responded with several shots, including one from Dani Carvajal in the 20th minute that went for a goal kick. Lamine Yamal sent a corner kick from the left side short to Nico Williams, who turned and passed to Dani Olmo, who shot the ball past the Serbian defense.

Second Half
The Spanish national team continued their offensive activity at the start of the second half, while the Serbian national team received a direct free kick from a spot near the penalty area in the 49th minute, executed by Ivan Ilicic, but the ball went wide of the left post.
The Spanish side took control of the match, and in the 55th minute, Cucuria took a shot from inside the area, but the ball collided with the defense and went into the corner. Robin Le Normand followed up in the 63rd minute with Alex Grimaldo’s corner kick from the left, which went just over the crossbar.
Serbian goalkeeper Rajkovic stood in the way of a goal in the 71st minute, after he brilliantly blocked a direct free kick from the right, which Grimaldo executed with a superb shot. The Serbian goalkeeper continued his brilliance after blocking a shot from Lamine Yamal in the 74th minute.
Against the run of play, Samrajdic missed a chance to score the winner for Serbia in the 90th minute, when he followed a corner from the left and headed in a header, but the defense kept the ball out of the danger area and the match ended in a goalless draw.
