Barbara D’Urso has filed a lawsuit against Mediaset, alleging interference with her professional activities and failure to pay contractual rights, according to a report by La Verità.
The legal action follows her departure from the broadcaster after more than two decades as one of its most prominent personalities, during which she hosted flagship programs such as Pomeriggio Cinque and Live – Non è la d’Urso.
D’Urso claims that Mediaset exerted undue influence to prevent her from securing work with other television networks, particularly Rai, Italy’s public broadcaster, effectively blocking her professional reintegration into the industry.
She further alleges that Mediaset has not compensated her for certain rights owed under her existing agreements, contributing to the basis of the legal claim.
The lawsuit comes after two years of minimal public commentary from D’Urso regarding her exit from Mediaset, a period during which she participated in Rai 1’s Ballando con le Stelle as a contestant.
In prior public statements, including a private conversation with Fabrizio Corona that was later made public, D’Urso confirmed the existence of a veto allegedly requested by Mediaset to impede her opportunities at Rai, stating, “quella roba lì, quella del veto è vera. La roba del veto in Rai.”
She also referenced comments made by Pier Silvio Berlusconi, suggesting he criticized her professional decisions, to which she responded that he would one day be called to testify.
The legal proceedings represent a significant escalation in the public dispute between the presenter and the media company, marking the first formal legal action taken by D’Urso against Mediaset following her departure.
As of the date of reporting, Mediaset has not issued a public response to the lawsuit, and no further details regarding the specific damages sought or court proceedings have been made available through verified sources.
