A Focus on Sustainability and Innovation

LADWP’s Key Accounts Section, comprised ⁢of approximately 30 ⁢dedicated account advisors, serves ⁢as the primary ⁣point of ⁤contact for these large customers, ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of water and power.

The workshop⁤ featured updates on ​several key ‍initiatives, including:

100% Carbon-Free Energy by 2035: LADWP reaffirmed its commitment to achieving a⁢ 100% carbon-free energy grid by 2035, building on the LA100 Study. The Department’s 2024 Strategic Long-Term Resource Plan (SLTRP) outlines⁣ a‌ roadmap ⁤for achieving this goal through increased renewable energy investments, expanded electrification, and robust energy​ efficiency‍ programs. Initiatives include boosting⁢ solar ⁣and wind investments, increasing energy ‍storage capacity, ⁤modernizing generation stations, developing transmission infrastructure,​ and offering customer programs ‍and incentives.

Preparing ‌for ⁢the 2028 Olympic ⁣and Paralympic​ Games: With ‍the 2028 Olympics on the horizon, LADWP is actively enhancing energy and water infrastructure to meet the demands of the Games. The ⁢Department is‌ collaborating closely ⁢with city⁣ partners to identify and address⁢ all needs, including supporting the Games Route ⁢Network for seamless athlete⁢ and​ spectator transit.

Pure Water Los Angeles: A Sustainable Water Future: LADWP’s Pure Water initiative aims to transform treated wastewater into a sustainable, potable resource, addressing local⁣ water supply challenges. The program targets converting 100% of the Hyperion Water Reclamation ‌Plant to water recycling and ‌producing 130 million gallons a day⁤ of recycled water by‌ 2056. ⁣Phase ⁣1, which will produce 50 million gallons a​ day, is ⁤expected to be ‍completed by 2040.
