Lady Gaga to Make Cameo in Highly Anticipated Sequel

The final trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 has revealed a musical collaboration between Lady Gaga and Doechii, featuring an original house pop song titled Runway. The track shares its name with the fictional fashion magazine at the center of the film’s narrative.

The song appears in the trailer with Lady Gaga performing the hook, You were born for the runway. The trailer also highlights verses from Doechii, including the lines Serve a little sass with a little side of ass and Do a little twirl, let ’em know that I’m that girl.

Film Plot and Cast Details

The sequel sees the return of Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, who returns to the Runway magazine where she previously served as a junior assistant to Editor-in-Chief Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep.

According to the trailer, Andy is brought back to the publication to assist with a current scandal. Miranda Priestly explicitly states that she did not personally hire Andy and suggests that Andy should bide my time until you fail.

The trailer introduces Amari, Miranda’s new assistant played by Simone Ashley, who is seen showing Andy to her new office. Returning cast members also include Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton and Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling.

Additional cast members joining the sequel include Lucy Liu, Pauline Chalamet, Justin Theroux, BJ Novak and Conrad Ricamora. The plot involves Miranda Priestly dealing with the decline of traditional magazine publishing while facing off against Emily Charlton, who has become a high-powered executive at a luxury advertising firm.

Lady Gaga’s Involvement and Recent Work

Beyond the original song, Lady Gaga is reported to make a cameo appearance in the film. Reports from October 10, 2025, indicated she filmed scenes in Milan, Italy, during the European leg of her Mayhem Ball Tour.

This role marks Gaga’s first movie appearance since the 2024 musical Joker: Folie à Deux, for which she also released the companion album Harlequin. She also appeared in a small role in the second season of the Netflix series Wednesday in 2025.

Gaga and Doechii both received accolades at the 2026 Grammys. Gaga won Best Pop Vocal Album for her project Mayhem, while Doechii won Best Music Video for the single Anxiety.

Release and Promotional Events

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2026.

To promote the release, 20th Century Studios is launching a limited-edition promotional Runway magazine on April 13, 2026. The issue features Emily Blunt’s character on the cover.

The promotional magazine will be available online and at pop-up newsstands located in New York City, Los Angeles, and other select locations across the United States.
