The Los Angeles Lakers are signing free-agent center Deandre Ayton to a two-year, $16.6 million contract, according to NBA insider Chris haynes. The deal includes a player option in the second year, Jake Fischer reported.
Ayton, once a highly touted Lakers center target, became attainable after securing a buyout from the Portland Trail Blazers. This cleared the way for Los Angeles to sign him at a more manageable price.
