Ho Chi Minh City to Auction 3 Land Lots in Thu Thiem New Urban Area
In June 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee will auction 3 land lots in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area, Thu Duc City, as part of its plan to develop the area.
The 3 land lots, including lots 1-2 (7,800 m2 wide), lots 1-3 (5,000 m2 wide), and lots 3-5 (6,500 m2 wide), will be auctioned off for multi-functional residential planning and mixed-use apartment buildings with commercial and service functions.
The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has issued a plan to organize auctions of land lots in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area, with the goal of terminating the auctioned asset sale contract signed with the auction winner for land use rights for 4 land lots 3-5, 3-8, 3-9, 3-12 in functional area No. 3.
In addition to the June 2025 auction, the city plans to continue auctioning 4 land lots in functional area No. 1, 3 lots in functional area No. 3, and 1 lot in functional area No. 7, with an expected implementation time of July 2025 to 2026.
The city has also assigned the Department of Planning and Architecture to carry out procedures to adjust the 1/2000 scale zoning plan and the 1/500 scale detailed construction plan for the 2c sports and entertainment complex, consisting of 6 lots.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment has been assigned to report to the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee on the agreement to select an investor through auction for the two land lots 1-12 and 1-20.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment will also be responsible for regularly inspecting and urging the implementation of the plan, and proactively coordinating with relevant departments and units to resolve any issues that may arise during the implementation process.
The Ho Chi Minh City Land Fund Development Center will organize and conduct land use rights auctions according to regulations, and will be responsible for organizing, implementing, and signing contracts to hire units and organize auctions according to bidding regulations.
