Landus Cooperative Launches Nationwide CEO Search

Landus Cooperative, the largest farmer-owned cooperative in Iowa, is conducting a nationwide search to fill the CEO role. This follows the departure of Matt Carstens on April 4. Sam Caton has taken on the responsibilities of interim CEO while the cooperative seeks a permanent leader.
The Landus board of directors has partnered with Medallion Partners, an executive search firm based in Indiana, to manage the recruitment process. Landus has recently invested considerably in infrastructure and technology to aid farmers in risk management and efficiency. The incoming CEO will be expected to leverage these advancements while upholding the cooperativeS core values.
Since April, Caton and the board have been gathering input from farmer-owners and employees to define the desired qualities in the next CEO. Matt Chambers, board chairman, emphasized the importance of the search. He noted Caton’s leadership provides a solid foundation during the transition. The success of Iowa’s farmers must remain central to all cooperative decisions,he said.
