The Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery Homicide Division, with the assistance of the Gang and Narcotics Division, conducted a raid on a home in Hollywood prior to the arrest of singer D4vd in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
David Anthony Burke, 21, known professionally as D4vd, was taken into custody shortly after 4:30 p.m. On Thursday, April 16, 2026, in Hollywood. He was formally booked into the LAPD 77th Street Station jail later that evening at 10:12 p.m. And is being held without bail.
The arrest stems from the discovery of Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s decomposing body inside Burke’s Tesla vehicle at a Hollywood tow yard in September 2025. Hernandez had been reported missing from the Inland Empire in 2024 before her remains were found over a year later.
Burke’s attorneys have stated that evidence will show he did not murder Hernandez and that they intend to vigorously defend his innocence. They emphasized that he had not yet been formally charged at the time of their statement.
The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office on Monday for filing consideration, according to the LAPD. No further details about the evidence leading to the arrest have been disclosed by authorities.
