Kyle Larson Shifts Focus to coca-Cola 600 After Indy 500 Setback

Following a disappointing end to his Indianapolis 500 debut,Kyle Larson is setting his sights on the Coca-Cola 600. Larson, who wrecked on Lap 92, finished 27th in the Indy 500. Now, he’s preparing to start on the outside of the front row at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Larson acknowledged the need for a “mental reset” after the Indy 500 incident. His Hendrick Motorsports crew chief, Cliff Daniels, discussed how Larson handles disappointment and refocuses on the next challenge.

Daniels noted Larson’s frequent racing across different series aids his ability to “turn the page” quickly, whether after a high or a low. He added that he joked wiht Larson during the trip from Indianapolis to Charlotte, even eliciting a smile.
“Luckily, we’ve had quite a while together in our relationship and just our competitive career,” said daniels. “What makes him so good and so special is just that he races so often and he’s able to kind of turn the page. When he has races that end on a high note, he turns the page for the next race (and) likewise if things don’t go well like they didn’t go well today.”
Daniels emphasized that Larson is not new to balancing different racing commitments, which helps him manage the demands of both IndyCar and NASCAR. The Coca-Cola 600 will be broadcast on Prime Video.
