A $38 million improvement project on Las Vegas Boulevard North in North Las Vegas is scheduled to begin on April 7, 2026. The initiative aims to modernize critical infrastructure and improve the roadway’s durability across a specific stretch of the thoroughfare.
City officials stated that the project will focus on upgrading storm drainage systems and modernizing underground utilities. The roadway will be repaved from East Tonopah Avenue to East Carey Avenue.
Traffic Impacts and Schedule
While Las Vegas Boulevard North will remain open throughout the duration of the construction, motorists are advised to expect traffic shifts and lane closures. City officials encourage drivers to utilize alternate routes to avoid delays.
A significant traffic shift is scheduled to begin on April 8, 2026. For approximately one month, traffic will be shifted to the southbound side of Las Vegas Boulevard North between North Bruce Street and East Carey Avenue.
Construction is expected to last about 18 months. Standard work hours for the project are established from 6:30 a.m. To 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Project Funding
The City of North Las Vegas indicated that funding for the $38 million project is provided by two primary entities:
- The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada
- The Clark County Regional Flood Control District
