Ahmed Al-Mahamid, a 26-year-old resident of LaSalle, possesses the ability to accurately identify the day of the week for any random date from 1900 to the present. His skill has drawn attention during April 2026, which is recognized internationally as Autism Acceptance Month.

Al-Mahamid, who was diagnosed with autism as a toddler, is known by the superhero name Calendar Man. He is capable of calculating the correct day of the week within seconds when provided with a specific date.

The Mechanics of Date Calculation

Al-Mahamid attributes his ability to the recognition of specific mathematical and chronological patterns. He explains that one primary method involves the fact that every 28 years, the calendar repeats exactly.

For years that do not fit this specific cycle, Al-Mahamid accounts for various variables. He stated that he has memorized at least seven different patterns that can occur to determine the correct day.

The accuracy of these calculations was demonstrated when Al-Mahamid correctly identified that April 22, 1970, fell on a Wednesday. He also correctly identified April 3, 2006, as a Monday.
