Omar Marmoush Leads Eintracht Frankfurt to German Cup Round of 16
Eintracht Frankfurt secured a spot in the round of 16 of the German Cup, defeating Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-1 at the Deutsche Bank Park.
Despite being outnumbered, Omar Marmoush started the match on the bench before coming on in the 63rd minute to score the winning goal for the team in the 70th minute of the match.
Eintracht took the lead in the second minute of first-half stoppage time, 45 + 2, through Hugo Ekitiki, while Borussia Mönchengladbach equalized through Ko Itakura in the 47th minute and Marmoush scored his side’s winner in the 70th minute. He received a ball inside the penalty area and shot hard into the top corner of the goal.
Frankfurt defender Arthur Theati was sent off 15 minutes into the match.
