Latvian Folk Band Klaidonis Celebrates 20 Years with US Tour

Latvian Folk Band Klaidonis Embarks on U.S. Tour to Celebrate 20 Years of Music

klaidonis, a beloved Latvian folk band, is bringing their unique sound to the United States for a special 20th-anniversary tour. Known for their captivating blend of conventional latvian melodies and modern influences, Klaidonis promises an unforgettable musical experience for American audiences.

The tour will feature songs from their highly anticipated new album, “Neko nejautā” (Don’t Ask Anything), a labor of love that took eight years to complete. Band leader Māris Sloka describes the album as a journey through Latvian folk traditions, expressed through his original compositions.

“we’re thrilled to share our music wiht American audiences,” Sloka said. “We’ve poured our hearts into this new album,and we can’t wait to see how it resonates with people here.”

Fans can also expect to hear beloved classics like “Vecais skroderis” (The Old Shoemaker) and “Mazā dvēselīte” (Little Soul),which have made Klaidonis a household name in Latvia.

Klaidonis Bringing Latvian Folk to the U.S.! An Exclusive Interview

Sarah: Hey Mark, I saw online that a Latvian folk band called Klaidonis is coming to the U.S. on tour! Have you heard of them?

Mark: I haven’t, but I’m always up for discovering new music. What kind of folk are we talking?

Sarah: They seem to do a really fascinating mix of customary Latvian melodies with some modern influences. Apparently, they’ve been around for 20 years which is pretty extraordinary!

Mark: Wow, 20 years! That’s a long time to keep the folk flame burning. Are they celebrating their anniversary with this tour?
