From Chicken Farmers to Celebrity stylists: The Entrepreneurial Spirit Fueling Fashion Dreams
Table of Contents
In the glittering world of fashion, where trends shift as quickly as seasons, a strong entrepreneurial spirit is often the secret ingredient to lasting success. For one rising star in the styling industry, that drive was cultivated not on the runways of Paris or Milan, but on a humble chicken farm, inspired by the unwavering work ethic of a beloved grandmother.
The Dream Clients: A Vision of Effortless Style
When asked about her ultimate “dream clients,” the answer is immediate and filled wiht admiration.”Rochelle Humes would be an absolute dream,” she shares, her eyes lighting up. “She wouldn’t need much styling. She carries everything off so effortlessly.” The admiration extends to another fashion icon: “Victoria Beckham, obviously! I could list off so many. Who knows? The sky’s the limit.” This ambition, coupled with a keen eye for natural style, sets a high bar for the kind of talent she aspires to work with.
Forged in the Farm: Lessons in Grit and determination
But where does this drive and understanding of hard work come from? the roots of her entrepreneurial journey are deeply embedded in her childhood, specifically in the lessons learned from her grandmother. “My grandmother was a chicken farmer and sold eggs,” she recalls fondly. ”I grew up on the same road as her just outside Banbridge. I adored her and really admired her work ethic – she never stopped.”
The image painted is one of incredible resilience and dedication. “she reared nine children, cooked from scratch and ran a business all simultaneously occurring. She was just this amazing personality and massive influence in my life.” It was her grandmother’s simple yet profound philosophy that truly shaped her outlook: “‘You’ll never do as well working for somebody else as you would for yourself. You’ll never be as happy working for someone else as you would for yourself.'”
The “Graft” Behind the Glamour
These words, she explains, became a guiding principle. ”Those words stuck in my psyche. I didn’t know what I wanted to do, but I was never afraid of hard work because chicken farming – it’s not easy work. It’s not glamorous.” This early understanding of the unglamorous reality of building something from the ground up has directly translated into her current profession.
“And my work isn’t easy either,” she admits. “we make it look glamorous, but to be successful, it’s about the graft.” This candid admission highlights the dedication and sheer effort that goes into creating the polished looks we see on red carpets and in fashion editorials. It’s a testament to the fact that true style, and indeed any successful venture, is built on a foundation of relentless hard work and a deep-seated belief in oneself, much like the lessons learned from a grandmother who knew the value of a day’s honest labor.
