Lauren Conrad has transitioned from a reality television mainstay to a lifestyle entrepreneur and mother, reflecting on her journey nearly 17 years after departing from The Hills
. The 40-year-old former MTV star is currently bookending her television career with the release of The Reunion: Laguna Beach
, which began streaming on The Roku Channel on April 10, 2026.
Speaking on the Let’s Be Honest
podcast hosted by Kristin Cavallari, Conrad expressed a desire to conclude her reality TV experience by returning to the cast with whom she began her career. Conrad indicated that she hopes this special marks the final chapter of her time in front of the cameras, noting that she does not miss the experience of being in the entertainment industry.
A Decade-Long Path to Marriage
While Conrad’s current life is centered around her family and business, her relationship with husband William Tell began with a connection that spanned a decade. Conrad first met Tell in 2002 when she was 16 years old, attending one of his concerts while he was performing as a guitarist for the pop-rock band Something Corporate.
The pair did not begin a romantic relationship until 2012, when mutual friends arranged a blind date on Valentine’s Day. Following this reintroduction, the couple’s relationship progressed quickly, leading to their marriage in September 2014.
Tell eventually transitioned away from his music career to pursue a profession in law. Despite this shift, he maintained his connection to his musical roots, reuniting with Something Corporate in October 2023 for a special performance in Las Vegas.
Building a Family and Lifestyle Empire
Since marrying Tell, Conrad has expanded her professional footprint beyond television. She leveraged her notoriety from Laguna Beach
and The Hills
to establish a comprehensive lifestyle brand. Her business ventures include:

- The LC Lauren Conrad line in partnership with Kohl’s
- The upscale brand Paper Crown
- Her own eponymous lifestyle website
- The Little Market, a fair-trade shop
In addition to her entrepreneurial success, Conrad and Tell have raised two sons, Liam, now 8, and Charlie, now 6.
Returning to Laguna Beach
In 2022, Conrad made the decision to leave her life in Los Angeles and return to her oceanside hometown. This move signaled a definitive break from the lifestyle associated with her early fame, including the nightlife of venues like Les Deux.
Conrad described her current state of contentment during her conversation with Cavallari, stating that she feels lucky to have moved past the pressures of entertainment. By returning to Laguna Beach, she has shifted her focus toward her family and her business empire, effectively closing the loop on the public narrative that began with her high school years on television.
