Taiwan ⁢Lawmaker alleges Bullying by former Culture Minister

Taipei,⁢ Taiwan – ⁤Kuomintang legislator Luo Tingwei has accused former Minister of Culture​ Xi Zhe of bullying ministry staff,⁣ citing complaints received by his office. Luo called for ⁤a thorough​ examination by the Ministry of⁢ Culture and the Executive Yuan.

Luo revealed that⁢ his office received multiple complaints from Ministry ‍of Culture employees alleging mistreatment⁣ by Xi Zhe during her tenure. ​The complaints detailed instances of verbal abuse, unreasonable demands, and a hostile work environment.

One complaint described Xi Zhe’s demanding nature, including⁤ specific requirements for her‍ food and beverages. Another alleged that Xi zhe berated staff for minor infractions, such as entering a vehicle after her.

“These⁣ are not ghost stories,” Luo stated in a press conference. “We cannot ignore these ⁤serious allegations.The Ministry of ⁢Culture​ must investigate these claims thoroughly ​and transparently.”

Culture⁤ Minister Li Yuan responded to the allegations, stating that no formal complaints were filed against Xi Zhe during ‌her time as minister.Li emphasized ‌the Ministry’s zero-tolerance policy towards workplace bullying and assured the public that all ⁢complaints are handled objectively ⁢and in ⁣accordance with Executive Yuan regulations.

Li also highlighted the Ministry’s efforts to create a‌ positive work environment, including encouraging employees to report bullying anonymously and providing support for those affected.
