The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has directed officials to invite a Request for Proposal (RFP) under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model for the construction of a ₹20 crore community centre in Gomti Nagar Extension, as confirmed by LDA Vice-Chairman Prathamesh Kumar.
The initiative aims to expedite project execution by leveraging private sector participation for efficient construction and long-term maintenance of the facility. Officials stated that the PPP model is expected to ensure timely delivery and sustainable upkeep of the community centre.
The proposed community centre is part of LDA’s broader strategy to develop modern public infrastructure in Lucknow’s expanding urban zones, particularly in Gomti Nagar Extension, which has seen significant residential and commercial growth in recent years.
This development aligns with LDA’s ongoing efforts to redevelop ageing commercial and public complexes across the city through PPP models, a approach previously announced for transforming deteriorating structures into modern, revenue-generating hubs while ensuring fair compensation for existing stakeholders.
As part of such initiatives, registered beneficiaries are typically allotted upgraded facilities with enhanced space allocation — a practice confirmed in other LDA redevelopment projects where shopkeepers received units 1.25 times larger than their existing spaces.
The RFP invitation marks the formal commencement of the procurement process, with private developers expected to submit technical and financial proposals for the design, construction, and operation of the community centre under the agreed PPP framework.
LDA officials confirmed that project timelines and specific design specifications will be finalised following the selection of the private partner through the competitive bidding process.
