ATLANTA, GA – Leah Edmond of the Atlanta Vibe has been named Major League Volleyball’s Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday, February 10, 2026. The award, presented by Franklin Sports, recognizes Edmond’s dominant performance in the Vibe’s 3-2 road victory over the Orlando Valkyries on February 6th.
Edmond, a cornerstone of the Vibe’s offense, delivered a season-high 24 kills and a double-double with 12 digs in the hard-fought win at Addition Financial Arena. Her offensive efficiency was particularly noteworthy, boasting a .447 hitting percentage and converting 51% of her attack attempts into kills. She also contributed two aces, one block, and one assist, demonstrating her all-around impact on the game.
This weekly honor marks the third time in her career that Edmond has received the recognition. The 6’2” outside hitter continues to lead the Vibe in both kills (151) and points (168) through eight matches this season. She has consistently been a force on the court, recording four matches with 20 or more kills and surpassing the 20-point mark five times in 2026.
“She’s just a phenomenal player,” a Vibe team representative stated, declining to be named. “Her ability to score, defend, and contribute in so many ways makes her incredibly valuable to our team.”
Edmond’s performance against Orlando was pivotal in securing the Vibe’s second consecutive victory, improving their record to 4-4. She has reached double figures in both points and kills in every game this season, and has registered double-digit digs in six of her eight appearances. In Atlanta’s two most recent victories, she has maintained an impressive .377 hitting efficiency.
The recognition comes as no surprise considering Edmond’s decorated career. The 2024 League MVP and 2025 First Team Selection has quickly established herself as one of the premier players in Major League Volleyball. Prior to joining the Vibe, Edmond enjoyed a successful professional career with Athletes Unlimited (USA) from 2021-2023, winning the AU Championship in 2023, and also played for Valencianas de Juncos in Puerto Rico from 2021-2022.
Edmond’s collegiate career at the University of Kentucky was equally impressive. A four-time AVCA All-America and All-Region selection, she earned SEC Player of the Year honors as both a junior (2018) and a senior (2019). She finished her career as the Wildcats’ all-time leader with 1,978 kills and 4,655 attack attempts.
The Vibe (4-4) will return to action on Saturday, February 14th, when they travel to Grand Rapids to face the Rise at 7 pm ET. The team is currently practicing and available for media interviews at Georgia State University Sports Arena.
