LeAnn Rimes, the country-pop star, faced an unexpected dental mishap during a recent performance at The Skagit Casino Resort in Washington.While singing her 1996 hit, “One Way Ticket,” her front dental bridge detached, causing her to briefly leave the stage.
Rimes, 42, addressed the incident in a video posted to Instagram. “I feel something pop in my mouth,” Rimes said, explaining that her dental bridge had fallen out mid-song. She has been open about her dental struggles, including past malpractice litigation adn numerous surgeries.
Rather than cancel the show, Rimes returned to the stage and finished her set, humorously attempting to reattach the bridge between lines.She even joked about the incident, calling it “the most epic experiance ever.”
Despite the embarrassment, Rimes maintained a positive attitude. “There wasn’t a f-ing thing I could do about it except either walk off or just hold my teeth in and sing, so I just ran with it,” she said. “The show can go on, even in the midst of sheer, utter embarrassment. You just gotta be real with people.”
Rimes has a history of dental issues, including a 2013 malpractice lawsuit against her former dentist, citing chronic pain and complications from failed veneers. She has undergone 29 dental surgeries.
